A program of the Jackson County CattleWomen, CULTIVATING THE next GEN is a three-day professional development for K-12 educators. Teachers will gain a foundational knowledge in agriculture. This year, beef cattle, dairy, and hydroponics will be presented and learned about through farm and ranch tours, a producer panel, demos and in discussions with knowledgeable industry leaders. This Professional Development will enrich student learning, allow teachers to better present fulfilling career paths, and help raise up the next generation of informed community leaders.

  • MICRO-GRANT TO PURCHASE AGRICULTURAL SUPPLIES, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT
  • 24 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS (PDUs)
  • GRADE LEVEL APPROPRIATE RESOURCES AND CURRICULUM
  • OPPORTUNITIES TO NETWORK WITH LOCAL FARMERS AND RANCHERS FOR FIELD TRIPS, GUEST SPEAKERS, AND GO-TO EXPERTS
  • FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE IN AGRICULTURE AND BROADENING OF KNOWLEDGE BASE
  • OPTIONAL: 3 DISCOUNTED GRADUATE LEVEL CREDITS FROM SOU
